A thread lift is an advanced minimally-invasive alternative to a surgical face lift. It is particularly useful to improve the nasolabial folds, jowls and jawline.
The threads we use are made from absorbable medical suture material, which has been in use for years in surgery. Most patients get an immediate benefit, which improves over 3 months.
Before the treatment, you will be given a local anaesthetic and any discomfort is usually minimal. You are likely to be sore and your face may be swollen for at least a few days afterward.
We, therefore, recommend that you take it very easy for at least 4 days after the procedure and avoid heavy physical activities for 2 weeks.
We use market leader Silhouette Soft cone treads as our preferred choice. They are made in the USA and are approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA), which gives our patients excellent reassurance on quality and efficacy.
We often combine thread lifts with other treatments, such as microneedling/PRP, ‘botox’, and dermal filler for best results. A good result can usually be achieved for a combined cost of around £2000 over 2-3 appointments.
2 weeks before the procedure botulinum toxin is recommended to relax the muscles of the lower face and neck. 4 weeks after the procedure further isolated threads or subtle dermal filler may be required to achieve maximum benefit and a truly natural-looking result.
The procedure is carried out by Dr. Thorsteinsson, who has carried out thousands of facial surgical and aesthetic procedures over the past 8 years, including complex reconstructive surgery after skin cancer. The price of the procedure may vary according to the needs of each patient.
My consultation was professional and informative. Dr. Thorsteinsson talked me through all aspects of the treatment and I left with all the information I needed (and a booked appointment!!). Highly recommended
