Dr Kashyap Katechia is a GP with a specialist interest in dermatology who joined Freyja Medical in 2024. With a broad background spanning hospital dermatology, general practice, and clinical research, he brings a wealth of experience to our team. His expertise covers medical dermatology, skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, and minor surgical procedures. Patients value his open, honest approach and the trust he builds with them throughout their care.
A Specialist in Skin Health
Dr Katechia has worked in dermatology since 2019, practising within the dermatology department at Glan Clwyd Hospital, where he continues to see patients. At Freyja Medical, his role began with supporting NHS patients referred with skin concerns, and he now provides expert care for a wide range of dermatological conditions.
His clinical interests include acne, rosacea, psoriasis, eczema, hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), and the assessment of skin lesions. He also performs minor skin surgery, offering safe and effective treatment for moles and other growths.
Education and Experience
Dr Katechia graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2009 and qualified as a GP in 2018. His medical career has taken him across the UK and internationally, with experience in Glasgow, Brighton, London, and Melbourne, before settling in North Wales.
He holds Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP, Glasgow), a BSc in Clinical Neuroscience, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University, which he completed with distinction.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Katechia is a GP trainer and clinical researcher, contributing to the development of evidence-based care while also mentoring future doctors.

Outside the Clinic
Away from work, Dr Katechia enjoys family life, often spending weekends and holidays with his large family. He has a love of travel, particularly exploring the beauty of Wales, and stays active with yoga and CrossFit.
Cooking is another of his passions—he enjoys experimenting with recipes from different cultures, finding it both creative and relaxing.
